Be a brave little toaster FleiXius!
I did the steps outlined but my mouse didn't respond the way it was supposed to. My wheel is now my fwd page and back page and my thumb buttons are up and down without repeat. I'm thinking it is in the imwheelrc file. Can you give more info on the options in imwheel, so that I can try to remap my buttons.

Perhaps, but I wish you hadn't mentioned it.
I'll poke around and see what I can do.
interesting. However I got my Logiteck mx700 to work with hoary (xorg) by just installing imwheel and editing the xorg.conf file by adding the buttons option to 7 and the type from IMPS/2 to ExplorerPS/2. Might work without imwheel and in warty.
Help, how do i get back the old settings?
Edit: I found an old copy. Puh!
